Aaron Glenn described Armand Membou as the type of player who is looking to add the planes.
“It’s bad, it’s unpleasant, it’s hard,” Glenn said during the night after the jets took Membou with the general selection number 7.
You would never know talking to Mebou outside the field. Mebou arrived in Florham Park on Friday and was educated and cordial, nothing like the man that Jet fans will see in the field in the right Tackle.
“When I get to that field, I simply turn the switch,” Mebou said. “There are no friends out there, so he only gets everyone.”
We are in the early days of Glenn’s mandate with the Jets and we still learn exactly what the new coach will seek. If Draft’s first choice is an indication, he wants something unpleasant in his players.
“What we are trying to do in the offensive, really fits what we are trying to do, so it was obvious,” Glenn said. “I mean, once the selection was there for us, man, it was as if this were the guy.”
Membou was late for football. He was playing in eighth grade, but was on the thin side. Hello, he also plays tennis, football, basketball and fought.
At the beginning of high school, he could not reach the university team. Then, in 2020, pandemic, Membou went to work in his body.
Hello, it began to exercise more and eat, and when it appeared for the practice of football that summer had gone from 220 pounds to around 250. It had also shot 6 feet to 6-3.
“I feel that God gave me a new update or something,” Mebou said.
He became a soccer player of the dominant high school at Lee’s Summit North in Missouri and was soon recruited to play in Missouri. He became a holder in the right Tigers for the Tigers in the middle of his first year season and NFL’s dream became realistic.
“I knew it was a real possibility after my first year when I arrived in the field,” Mebou said.
Membou would become an accessory in the right Tackle for Missouri through its second and second place seasons. Many NFL teams did not see Membou as a block to leave the school early and enter this year’s draft. But Membou began to believe that he was ready for NFL as his third year progressed.
“For me, at the end of the season it was quite easy because I was playing very well,” Mebou said. “And also mentally, I am also sure to know that it was going well.”
Mebou was not on the radar of all the NFL teams because the exploration community came late as an early entrance player.
“Yes, after the season, I heard as second grades of third round and was the son of discussing whether or not I should return,” Mebou said, “but I had confidence in my movie of the previous and safe season of Glady. I am,” I’m “” “” “”

Then, Membou organized a screen at the NFL Scouting Combine that included a 40-yard 40-yard board, a surprising moment for a 6-4 and 332 pounds player. Suddenly, Membou was in the discussion as the best offensive liner in this draft and a possible selection of the 10 best.
“I feel that once people saw the athletics I showed in the harvester, they probably touch that second look at the movie and said:” Woah, as he is that athletic, “Mebou said.
The jets see Membou as a right plug-and-play Tackle that can complete a strong offensive line. Mebou can bring your unpleasant streak to jets, as well as their physical skills.
“I would only say that I am very explosive,” Mebou said about his strengths. “I believe a lot of good movement in the career game, and I am very consistent in Pass Pro. I would really say anything for weaknesses at this time, I’m just trying to improve my general game that I get here.”
