A trio of teenage ruffians who attacked a retired Nyutenant in the Upper East Side here brought to their parents’ authorities after the police released their photos, police said.
The teenagers, two 13 -year -old children and a 14 -year -old boy were marched to the top of the 19th District station by their families, apparently after the parents saw their surveillance photos, a police source said.
“I guess they were embarrassed,” said the source.
All were accused of second degree gang assault and second degree assault.
The trio faced the 65 -year -old retiree around 8 pm on Tuesday, after he tried to prevent them from gathering in a taxi driver in Park Avenue and East 84th Street, according to sources of application of the law.
The victim was beaten with a backpack and beaten in the face, sending him falling to the ground, the fountains said.
“They were looking for problems to harass everyone who saw,” said the victim, who didn’t want to be identified. “When they began to crowd the taxi driver, they kill me and realize to leave him alone. It was then that a coward hit me from behind with a backpack.”
He suffered minor injuries on his face and knee, and rejected medical attention, police said.
