Fast-Moving Wildfire Erupts Near West Hills, Northwest Of Los Angeles; Homes Threatened, Mandatory Evacuations Underway

A fast-moving wildfire broke out Thursday afternoon near West Hills, northwest of Los Angeles, threatening homes. The Kennith Fire was first reported around 2:30 p.m. in an area of dry brush in the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve. The Los Angeles Fire Department has issued a mandatory evacuation order for Vanowen Street south
