The Honorable Levern Spencer
Levern Spencence’s achievement to represent Santa Lucia in four Olympic Games, eight outdoor world -air championships, four interior world championships and five games from the Commonwealth as a high jumper in a 23 -year -old race, Beentixe Hontryfixe has been padd Certification ceremony of 2025.
Levern reacted: “What joy and privilege was to have the second highest prize in my country, La Cruz de Santa Lucía. Surely, when at age 14, I started my 23 -year -old trip, which represents my country in the field of sports, I did not see that a day arrived, and so I crowd this occasion with a great degree of satisfaction and a sense of satisfaction.

“Therefore, I think that I achieve that I guarantee that I take the opportunity to continue thanking the many people and institutes who supported me in this long and satisfactory trip. It is not necessary to say that their association forever, and that is why everything happens. Having met Levern for many years, and I have seen it, I believe, 17 of those championships, I share their delight in the award.
I clearly remember the first conversation I had with her. It was in Brussels 2017, the year there was an energy failure that left much of the stadium in the dark. On the way to the stage, I read in the excellent biographies of Mark Butler that Levern Spencer was a committed Christian. As I have an interest in faith athletes, I took a note to talk to her later. I missed it for chaos in a mixed dark zone. I later boarded the bus back to the hotel. The bus was full with just one seat, next to the delivery!
When he retired, he published on social networks: “Well, it turned out that my final jump at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was my final jump in the case of a high jump, in the sport of athletics. After a trip of the skin Athletics of athletics of athletics of athletics.

The following extracts of a Q and an article that I made about it in 2020, give a flavor to the athlete and the person:
The highlight of the race?
I have many outstanding aspects and many good achievements. The two most important were the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where I created the story by being the first San Lucian to win a gold medal of the Commonwealth and in 2016 when I became the first Stian to reach an Olympic final. Those would be two of the main prominent aspects.
Disappointments?
I would call it a disappointment, but one thing, if I could go and do something different, I would try to get access to a world class installation and training before. I would like to have started working in my technique at an earlier age. I did not start jumping until I was 14 years old, but I did not get the training and clean training until 20 years, which is too late. So, if I could change one thing, it would be to obtain world -class facilities before to improve my technique at an earlier age.
Is it a frustration that you never did the two -meter magic?
I don’t want to say ‘frustration’. Yes, my PR is 1.98 but I was so close to two meters several times. 1.98 is not far from two meters, but somehow two meters puts you in another class. Everyone wants to reach the two -meter mark. I would have loved to obtain public relations, but I will still be happy with my career and what I have achieved over the years. I have seen some athletes clear 2 meters and then never do it again. When you have a high PR, it is more difficult to overcome it.

What was the secret of your longevity?
With my manager I formulated a motto: God + hard work + discipline = success. I have used that motto through my career. Anything that has achieved so far was all Chicken coop Do, not through my own strength, but because God allowed it to happen. I stress hard work Because nothing in life is easy, you have to work hard. Disciplined It means acceptance a lot of sacrifice. And I think the three embody success. Through my career, the motto motivated me and pushed me to follow the sport. I did the little things I needed to do on my own to minimize injuries, such as going to a chiropractic, having massages or doing additional stretching, just to keep my body in the best possible way. It allowed me to compete for 23 consecutive seasons without having important injuries. I did not have to sit any season and I am grateful that God kept me so much.
