As a sign of the intense rivalry that would develop the two schools, an article in the student newspaper of Lafayette, the Lafayette College MagazineHe described the loss as a “defeat in our recent contest with the University of Lehight, a defeat, also, doubly humiliating, as he did, of an adversary in all other aspects to our lower.”

1885/1887“Ipen’s Billy Page became 1stem American to cover the 6 feet barrier in the height jump, cleaning 6-1/4 (1,835) in Philadelphia. On the same date, two years later, he cleared 6-1 (1,855), also in Philadelphia. He established a total of 8 American records in the era prior to AAU and won 3 IC4A and 3 US titles (1885-1887).
1910—Harvard beat Yale, 52 ½-51 ½, on his track of origin when DP Ranney beat Reilly for centimeters to obtain second place in the final race of the day, the 220y, to win the match for the Crimson.
1966—Bogren, 19, established the first of his 4 world records (and the first of his 7 American discs) in the pole jump, cleaning 17-5 ½ (5.32) on the relay of the west coast in Fresno, ca. Fred Hansen established the previous record of 17-4 in 1964 (ratified as 5.28/17-3 3/4).
Seagren gets used to having a race in the Hall of Fame that included a gold medal at the 1968 Olympic Games.

2006-Cla Senior Chelsea Johnson won the pole jump in the PAC-10 Championship in Eugene, or, with an authorization of 15-1 (4.60) to break the university record of 15-1/4 (4.58), which was established by the state of Florida before. Janson would beat Johnson to win the NCAA title in June.

2011The Šutej de Arkansas Tina, Junior of Slovenia, established a university (and national) record of 15-1 ½ (4.61) in the pole jump in the SEC championship in Athens, Georgia. Chelsea Johnson de UCLA established the previous or 15-1 (4.60) 5 years before on this same date (2006).
2011—Arreg Freshman English Gardner won the 100 in the PAC-10 Championship at 11.03 to establish an American junior/sub-20 record (now #9).
2012-The Kyle Merber de Columbia ran 3: 35.59 on Swarthmore College to establish an American university record for 1500 meters (since it broke). It was the fastest time executed by a school since Sydney Maree (South Africa) of Villanova established the CR O 3: 35.30 in 1981. The head of both records is now Liam Murphy of Villanova (3: 33.02/2025).

2022—Sior Gary Martin (Archbishop Wood, PA) won the mile in 3: 57.98 in the Championship of the Catholic League of Philadelphia. That is the fastest mile ever in a high school only, improving the best best of 3: 58.3 that Jim Ryun ran at the Kansas state meeting of 1965.
“I think it’s crazy to see the company I am in,” Martin said after the meeting of the best Miles of American high school. “It is a leg such a big leap for me. Just to meet the boys that I am surrounded as Jim Ryun, Alan Webb and obviously last year Hobbs Kessler ran 3:57 indoors, it is an incredible company for B.”
“I don’t think it’s still appeared. I’ve been running all day, so I really had the time to sit with that and let him sink. I think that is likely to come tomorrow. Who I’m going and I think it will be real estate.”
It would improve 3: 57.89 later in the season and ran an excellent 3: 48.82 this last interior season (2025) as a Junior of Virginia.

2023—An alignment of Texas or Julien Alfred, Ezzine Abba, Rahsidat Adeleke and Kevona Davis established a university record of 41.89 in the 4 × 100 female in the Big-12 championships in Norman, Oklahoma. The same quartet established the previous record of 42.00 at the beginning of the season. They would improve 41.55 the following month on their origin track in the NCAA Championship. Only the National Teams of the United States, Jamaica, Eastern Germany and Russia have run faster!
