Alabama’s father, who was almost beheaded by a manic that wielded the ax, died of his wounds on Thursday night, almost two weeks after the attack not caused at a bus stop in Arizona, his family announced.
Jacob Couch was a dead man pronounced at Banner University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, where he had been on a vital support from April 5 until his heart cooled, Kold said.
“I can’t believe we’ve arrived 11 years. I always thought we would have many more. I will love you forever and always,” Kristen Couch wrote on Facebook.
The 32 -year -old man was critical after being in the suspended murderer Daniel Michael.
Couch and his wife were sitting at a bus stop in downtown Tucson when Michael, 25, faced and shouted before taking out the gun.
Kristen Couch said her husband had leaned to collect her belongings to leave him when Michael launched her attack.
Michael cut an artery in Couch’s neck, and the sharp blade made the duration of the disturbing attack.
Michael fled the scene when he climbed to a tram while the sofa was bleeding heavy from his wound.
The couple had been traveling back to Arab, Alabama, after living in Los Angeles for 10 months.
They had moved west to escape their old lives after the fetal death of their son Brooks in May 2024.
Without finding what they were looking for and losing their daughters of 13 and 15 years, whom they had from previous relationships, they traveled by bus home, stopping in Tucson.
“Please hold our sweet baby so tight until I can be with you,” Kristen Couch wrote. “I know Jake tried to fight. We could all see it, but now I think a leg can have the little closure that could give us before he left this world.”
The family members had traveled to Arizona and were cautious optimistic before making any decision regarding Couch’s life support.
The doctors had given Couch a small possibility of recovery, but the relatives said they saw small improvements in their condition on the day he died.

The family established a GOFUNDME page to raise money to travel to Tucson and use additional funds for medical expenses, alabama sofa transport and funeral expenses.
They also expect the money raised to be used to travel back to Arizona for future courtes and establish an account of the 15 -year daughter of Couch.
Michael was arrested three days later at home and initially accused of two aggravated assault positions before the charges were updated to the first degree murder.
He is being a hero in the Pima County prison with a bail of $ 1 million.
