A German palliative care doctor has been accused or killing at least 15 or his patients and is suspended in at least 95 more cases.
German prosecutors said that this week will accuse a 40 -year -old palliative medicine specialist, “Johannes M”, for the murder of 15 people who were under their care at the time of their death, reports the IMS NTV.
It is alleged that the doctor, who was in a nursing service based in Berlin, focused on mitigating the pain of patients with serious diseases, has used their position to obtain access to their victims, who are accused of having been dosing with an anesthesia in combination with a muscle relaxant to trigger paralysis of their respiratory systems that led them to “stop breaking and dying within a few minutes.”
In some cases, the doctor accused of having started fires in the patient’s houses to cover the alleged murders. He alleges that he tried to hide the guilt even more calling emergency services himself while claiming to have tried to revive patients.
Prosecutors said that the 15 murders were believed to occur between 2021 and 2024. The alleged victims, 12 women and three men were between 25 and 94 years at the time of their death.
The doctor was first arrested in August last year, but prosecutors said that “the court order issued repeatedly to include new accusations in the course of the investigation.”
Now they have gathered enough tests to accuse the doctor of 15 murders. In total, prosecutors said 395 deaths were examined and “in 95 of these cases, the initial suspicion was confirmed and investigations began. In five cases, the initial suspicion has not referred.”
75 other cases are still being examined, and the authorities currently plan to exhume at least five more bodies to help their research after having fallen 12 people already turn the course of the investigation.
In addition to a prison sentence, prosecutors plan to find a prohibition for life against the doctor of the medical professional in Germany.
