The veteran journalist and former deputy of Rajya Sabha, Kumar Ketkar, has been appointed winner of the Anant Dixit Memorial Award, while the acclaimed cartoonist Alok Nuntar will be honored with the Mohan Memorial Committee. The awards have a cash prize of ₹ 51000 and ₹ 21,000, respectively, together with a commemorative memory.
Institute by colleagues and fans of the late Anant Dixit, a venerated Marathi editor known for his conscious and incisive socia writing, the awards celebrate outstanding contributions to journalism. The Mohan Maskar award, meanwhile, honors the memory of a young promising journalist whose work in rural reports won admiration throughout Maharashtra. Maskar’s premature disappearance left a significant vacuum in the field, and this award seeks to inspire and recognize the emerging journalistic talent.

Alok Nuntar
Kumar Ketkar, with about five decades of journalistic excellence, has shaped the speech of the Maharashtra newspapers with his editorial leadership. Alok Nuntar is celebrated by his bold visual comment and distinctive style.
“The awards will be awarded in a great congratulatory ceremony that will be a hero in Kolhapur soon. Dixit’s legacy is still alive through this annual tax, recognizing a senior and talent journalist of each year,” said Dr. Vijay Chormare, convening of the Anant Dixit Memorial Committee.
