The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Hero speaks on Monday with the American vice president JD Vance in the context of the ongoing negotiations for a bilateral commercial pact.
The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to further expand the global strategic ties of United India, as well as the New Delhi Conerns about Washington’s commercial policy.
After the conversations between Prime Minister Modi and the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in Washington DC in February, the two parties announced that they would negotiate the first section of the Bilateral Commercial Agreement for the fall of 2025.
After the conversations, the prime minister will organize a dinner for Vance, his wife of Indian origin Usha Chilukuri and the delegation of senior government officials that accumulate the vice president.
Vance and his family landed in Delhi this morning at a visit to India four days after his trip to Italy during the weekend.
He is the first American vice president to visit India in 12 years after Joe Biden visited New Delhi in 2013.
Vance’s first visit to India arrives week after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, imposed and then stopped a tariff regime of brightness against around 60 countries, including India.
New Delhi and Washington are now carrying out negotiations to seal a bilateral commercial agreement that is expected to address a variety of problems that include rates and market access.
Vance and his family are also visiting Jaipur and Agra.
Last month, the United States Assistant Trade Representative Brendan Lynch visited India and Hero’s conversations with his Indian interlocutors to reaffirm the bilateral trade agreement (BTA).

In financial year 2023-24, the United States was the third largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI) in India with USD inputs 4.99 billion.
