The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, held a meeting with the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, S Jaishankar, at Delhi airport upon his arrival in Saudi Arabia, while existers of the situation after the terrorist attack are produced.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Miskri was also part of the meeting, authorities said.
The officials informed Modi immediately after their return amid national shock and indignation for the most horrible attack aimed at tourists in the valley in a long period of time.
The terrorists attacked Tuesday in a main tourist location in Pahalgam in southern Kashmir, killing at least 26 people, mostly tourists and wounding several others, according to officials.
The deceased included two foreigners, from the EAU and Nepal, and two locals, they said.
Modi interrupted his trip to Saudi Arabia to return on Wednesday morning, while Interior Minister Amit Shah hastened Srinagar on Tuesday night to lead security measures.
The prime minister has promised that these behind the attack will not be saved and will lead to justice.
