Travel agents associations seek better protection and rapid action against terrorism to restore confidence among travelers visiting Jammu and Kashmir.
This appeal occurs when tourists fight to return home after the terrible terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday. There are postponements and travel cancellations with travel agents that manage calls for alternative dates and destinations.
“Such drastic attacks against innocent tourists will have a very negative impact on both national tourism and international tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, Althhehouung International Tourist arrived are minor.
“Tourism associations urge the government and security agencies to take strict and immediate measures against these guilty and guarantee greater protection for tourists throughout the region,” Mehra added.
Jammu and Kashmiro tours were sold throughout the summer with completely reserved hotels until June. Many specialize from Maharashtra and Gujarat have reserved trips 3-4 months in advance.
The Tour de Maharashtra Association has decided not to cancel any journey to Jammu and Kashmir and its members are asking customers to stay with reservations. “The dust should calm down a couple of days,” said Abhijet Patil, president, Raja Rani travels.
Serious terrorist attack
“Previously, after a serious terrorist attack, there would be a feeling of fear among the people of Kashmir. I don’t see that now,” he added. However, tourists are not willing to risk at this time.
“There are cancellations that are happening and we are working with customs to offer them alternative destinations (in case of vacation) and reimburse or reprogram in case of flights,” said a head of the online travel company.
“Our teams are working 24 hours with the airline and hotel partners to provide flexibility and assistance in reservations/cancellations. Our team on land is doing everything that is in their ability to support travelers,” said a Makemytrip spokesman.
