400-yard drives?! Here’s why LIV Golf Mexico City will deliver huge distances

Will there be a 400 -yard trip in the thin air this week? Liv Golf Mexico City? David Puig, one of the longest batters in the league, did not take long to reflect on the question.

“I think so,” he said, “if the streets become a little firmer and it is in favor of the wind.”

The young GC Balls star almost did it early in the week in the range of practices at the Chapultepec Golf Club, reaching an impulse that its launch monitor recorded 354 meters, which is approximately 387 yards.

“I got out of my shoes,” Puig acknowledged, “but maybe possible.”

Definitely possible. Maybe probable. Likely.

The last time at the Golf Club, the Golf Chapultepec, which meets more than 7,800 feet on the world golf level championship event, Justin Thomas reached a 449 yards trip, the longest in the PGA Tour that season. The previous year, Thomas connected a 457 yards trip, also the longest of that season.

Althegh, the course has been clenched since then, with some narrow streets that could discourage a full Leart-Rip approach, it is still a unique opportunity for the best golfers in the world to reach the stratosphere.

The Crushers GC Captain Bryson Deschambeau, the leader of the league distance last season and again this year, reached an impulse of 407 yards practice with a launch angle of 15.1 degrees. “I have to have the launch high enough, above 15 to work,” he said in the video of his swing.

An admirer Phil Mickelson: “That is very sexy.”

Mickelson, a WGC winner here, published a video in his own social media channel in which he was practically stunned by the opportunity he was waiting for the 54 players outside the TEE.

“You can hit bombs, bombs here,” said Hyflyers GC captain. “It’s amazing.”

Then, to provide tests, Hey “Maxxed” of a unit that registered 362 transport yards.

“Get some,” Mickelson implored. “Get some of that!”

It is not surprising that the players are flying regularly on the network that is approximately 320 yards on the back of the range.

“It’s fun to listen to it so far,” said Adrian Meronk by Cleeks GC, who occupies the 16th position in the average driving this season at 305.2 yards. He estimates that the high elevation could result in a greater gain of 20% in the distance, which would give it 60 additional yards.

Golf Chapultepec Club, which organizes its first LIV golf tournament this week, is the improved course in the history of the League, a period of 42 events since the opening season 2022.

The official yardas book for Mexico City of Liv Golf, for example, refers to the 10% increase for the High City of Denver mile, Colorado, which is found in 5,280 feet. Then refers to 15% for the club, the Golf Chapultepec is almost 7,900 feet. Not only increases shooting yards, but also increases the gaps between clubs, forcing players (and their caddies) to make difficult decisions in the club selection.
