Althegh who travels to Korea every year, Jenni Lee’s last visit was very special. The founder and designer behind the Sock and Loungewear Comme brand if she traveled to Seoul, with her husband and child in tow, to celebrate and show her collaboration with modular USM furniture. Inspired by the traditional architecture of Hanok Korean, the collection includes special edition halls and eight personalized design furniture, some of which incorporate the exclusive comme si textiles. Next, Lee guides us through his trip, from the beauty products that he picked up to the restaurant of the 80s that called it “favorite.”

I am writing to you after spending 10 days in Korea. I live in Los Angeles, but when I was a child, I get there all summer to visit the family. This time, I can show my collection of custom furniture for USM in Seoul in 10 Corso as. USM manufactures some of the best modular furniture (if I say it myself). My collection was inspired by the Korean architects and the traditional designs of Hanok, and then personalized the pieces even more through the use of the company I founded, comme yes. We debuted the furniture collection in New York, but it made a lot of sense to exhibit it in Korea as well. So, when the opportunity arose, my husband and I decided to use the trip to introduce the country to our little child.
We specifically plan a daytime flight because we did it because to risk not sleeping in a red eye and disturbing everyone else. The flight was 13.5 hours, but we landed at night. That is a really good trick for Jet on the road that we got to bed when the plane landed, and then we were ready to go the next day. Going back is a thought of a different story …
Before traveling, I will make my night skin care routine regardless of time because I know it will be very dry on the plane. The main star is the Atobarrier 365 Atobarrier cream in Aestura. We stayed in the Yongsan district, which is near the center of Seoul, during the first half of the trip. It is good because it has a direct path to the Pass and the forest of Mount Namsan. There is also a forest of young children. After a handful of days, we moved to the Intercontinental Parna Hotel Grand in the Gangognam area because we wanted to be close to 10 Corso as. The hotel is really attached to Coex Mall, famous for its giant and aquarium library, so it can go directly from the hotel to the department stores Hyundai inside. In Korea, department stores have everything from groceries to clothes. They simply have a clean food and restaurants. You could spend all day in them if you wanted.
Or of course, beauty purchases in Seoul went to the next level. There were so many good products that exaggerate me. Rejuran face and neck cream is really popular at this time. It has salmon sperm DNA, that people also have bones injecting in their skin. Honestly, when I went to a pharmacy, the pharmacist was super forceful and told me that my skin will not change magically. “It’s just another cream,” he told me. I ended up showing more products and he told me if they were very or not. I bought a pair or bottles or pharmaceutical cream of D-Panthenol diapers. Like the Aestura moisturizer, it is really good for dry or grouped skin. And there was also a lot in Olive Young, a health and beauty store. I receive some facial laser treatments when I arrived in Korea. As I had the launch of Corso as, I could not do anything to leave my raw or indecorous face, but I got Onda and Titanium. I try to go to Korea quite frequently, and it is always interesting to see how much things change, only in the period of one year. The retail environment is very innovative and moves very fast, so for me, it was really satisfying to see people in a different market react to Commes and the exhibition in general. I did it in Korea, I just visited, but I love traditional architecture and translate that to furniture and have people who live there so that my perspective is a new interpretation was really surprising.
