EPFO adds 16.10 lakh members in February

The organization of the employee forecast (EPFO) added 16.10 members of the Lakh Network in February, showing an increase of 3.99 percent compared to the same month last year, the latest payroll data published on Monday revealed.

He registered around 7.39 LAKH of new subscribers in February 2025.

A remarkable aspect of the data is that 4.27 LAKH new subscribers were in the age group of 18-25 years, constituting a meaning of 57.71 percent of the total new subscribers added in February 2025, the Ministry of Labor and Employment said in a statement.

This, the Ministry declared, is in line with the previous trend indicating that most people who join the organized workforce are young, mainly employment applicants for the first time.

The net payroll addition for age group 18-25 for February 2025 is approximately 6.78 Lakh that reflects a growth of 3.01% compared to the previous year in February 2024.

Approximately 13,18 members of Lakh, who had left before, joined EPFO ​​in February 2025, marking a growth of 11.85 percent year after year compared to the same month, last year.

Similarly, around 2.08 new subscribers joined EPFO ​​in February 2025, which means a growth year after year or 1.26% compared to the same month, 2024.

In addition, the net female payroll addition during the month was around 3.37 Lakh, a significant growth of a year after year of 9.23% compared to February 2024. The growth in the additions of the female members is indicative of a broader change towards a more inclusive and diverse workforce, the ministry observed.
