The employee status insurance corporation (ESIC) has decided to open 20 newer medical conferences in the next two years, which increases the scope of the medical care of the affordable government for insured workers of 3.72 corporations and their families.

The 10 new proposed medical universities that are being explored to open in 2025-26 would be in Pune (Maharashtra, Manesar (Haryana), Kollam (Kerala), Sureat (Gujarat), Visshakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Bhubaneshar (Odishanar (Odisha) (Maharashtra), Kanpes (Uttadesh). With this initiative, which arrives at a time when private medical care becomes unavailable even for the middle class, the number of medical conferences will go to 31, including 28 directed directly by the Corporation and 3 with the states, sources from the Ministry said.

It is expected that the ten medical schools of ESIC proposed begin from the next academic session in 2026, since the corporation must still obtain the country in some places and regulatory approvals for all, and increase the infrastructure for each of them would take a long time.

Each of the ten medical universities would have 200 beds and sacrifice 50 MBBs seats. The allocation of the bed and the corresponding intake of the MBBS students can increase depending on the ESIC requirements in the identified districts.

40% MBBS Reserved Employee seats covered by the ESI Law

The Minister of the Union said that 40 percent of the MBBS seats at each University of Medicine would be reserved for the children of employees covered by the employee state insurance law (ESI). Only workers employed in factories, road transport, hotels and restaurants that obtain a salary of ₹ 21,000 per month or less have the right to benefit from the scheme.

By 2026-27, we are planning to have another ten medical conferences, Mandaviya also told reporters.

Meanwhile, as of August of this year, the 10 Medical Universities of ESIC will begin operating in Andheri (Maharashtra), Basainarpur (Delhi), Guwahati -Beltola (Assam), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Ludhiana, Ludhian, Ludhiana, Noida and Varanasi (Utteh). (Jharkhand).

The minister said that as of April 21, 2025, 691 districts had been notified for the implementation of the ESI Social Security scheme, compared to 393 districts in the country in 2014.

Of the 691 notified districts, 592 are “completely notified”, 99 are partial notified and 87 are not nootified. In general, there are 778 districts.

The ESIC is formulating a policy to extend medical care through primary health centers (PHC) and Community Health Centers (CHC) in not partially implemented and implemented districts, which guarantees access to ESIC’s benefits for the beneficiaries considered.

The Ministry declared that the ESIC is collaborating with Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aragya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to sacrifice comprehensive medical care without effective to more than 14.4 beneficiary rupees.

ESIC beneficiaries can carry out their treatment in PMJAY packaged hospitals.
