The reference indices closed higher for the sixth consecutive session on Tuesday, with banking actions leading the demonstration after the Bank of the India Reserve announced favorable changes to the liquuidity standards. Despite weak global signs and losses during the night in US markets, the Sensex ended the day at 79,595.59, winning 187.09 points or 0.24 percent, while Nifty 50 settled at 24,167,25, 41.70 percent.

Upper gaatores

ITC led the advances, increasing 2.58 percent to ₹ 433.70, reversing their previous losses. Hindustan Unilever showed strong yield, increasing 2.09 percent to ₹ 2,399.10.

M&M won 1.89 percent to close to ₹ 2,817.15, continuing its positive impulse from the previous session. HDFC Bank added 1.78 percent to finish ₹ 1.961.90. Eicher Motors completed the top five with a gain of 1.41 percent, which ended at ₹ 237.45.

The main losers

Indusind Bank was the largest loser, falling 4.88 percent to ₹ 787.65 in the middle of the profit reserve after yesterday’s profits. PowerGrid decreased 2.30 percent to ₹ 312.60.

Infosys fell 1.93 percent to ₹ 1,422.40, while Bharti Airtel fell 1.68 percent to ₹ 1,852.00. Bajaj Fiestserv closed 1.25 percent lower than ₹ 2,077.90.

Bank Nifty was the star artist, jumping sharply to reach a new historical maximum of 55,961 before closing 55,647.20, more in 342.70 points or 0.62 percent. The Rally in the bank actions followed RBI’s announcement to relieve the final standards of the liquuidity coverage ratio (CSF), as of April 2026.
