Investment in renewable energy sources is largely found in states that have high potential of solar, wind, hydroelectric energy, etc. For example, investments in the five main states represented more than a third of Pan-India investments (2020-2024).

These states also have more than 60 percent of the installed capacity in the country.

Solar shines

Among all beef, solar energy has the greatest growth potential. For example, cumulative investments in stellar power in the last five years, until 2024, were around ₹ 2.64 Lakh Crore, which is approximately 66 percent of total investments in the res sector.
