A couple of designers has listed their award -winning fire station, where the post of an original firefighter anchors a spectacular conversion.
Originally built in 1938, Baysside’s fire station was reinvented as a unique family home in its kind, combining heritage architecture with a contemporary design.
The property in 39 Mountjoy TCE, Wynnum, is on the market through a campaign of interest expressions that closed on May 29.
The only three bedroom house and three bathrooms changed his hands for the last time for $ 1.4 million in 2020, four years after his restoration was completed, when it was bought by Mark Damant and Michelle Donnelly, or Little Boat projects.

As the creative force behind Howard Smith Whaves de Brisbane along with a large number of other mixed use projects, the couple deeply appreciated the historical home.
Owen Architecture had worked with previous owners, Nicki and Michael Dalton, giving new life to the historic building that had served as the Wynnum Fire Station from 1938 to 2004.
The project obtained regional and national titles, including the prestigious John Dalton Award for the Brisbane year building in 2016.
Marketing agent Christine Rudolph, or Ray White New Farm, said the house was a local milestone that combined its attacks with a new era or a modern coastal life.

“Current custodians are an incredible couple as the creative force behind many of Brisbane’s new reference points, such as the Whaves Howard Smith, and although they did not make the original renewal, they have certainly done more work to the property since they bought it several years ago outside the market.
“The Bayside Fire Station is a surprising piece of Brisbane’s civic and architectural history, and now a spectacular family home, sitting in a package of 1,215 square meters in three Lott with radical views of Moreton Bay and its islands.”
