The territory government will release land for 26,000 homes over the next five years to meet the housing objectives.
The Government of the Law proposes to allow 30,000 new homes for 2030 under its national housing accorders and has established its strategy through the Housing and Liberation Supply Program of countries.
Every year, together with the release of the budget, the Act government launches its five -year plan for the liberation of land owned by territory to meet the growing population needs.
Previously, this was known as an independent publication called the Indicative Land Liberation Program, but now it is part of the broader housing supply and land release program.

The last iteration establishes a plan to allow the construction of 25,948 new houses in the law by 2030 through liberations of residential lands by the Government. Of those houses, 23,569 will be part of the buildings of multiple units and 2379 will separate.
This will explain an expected population growth of 47,872 people by 2030.
The ACT treasurer, Chris Steel, delivered the news in the state budget on June 24, 2025.

What area will you see the largest number of buildings?
The law is composed of nine districts and the state government has provided an indication of how much the house will be built in each of the land launches owned by territory.
Molonglo Valley, east of Canberra, is the newest district in the territory and has 3.4% of its total population with 16,026 people. Much of the district is still developing with two new suburbs, Bandler and Sulman, announced last year.
According to the Act government, the Sacrifica land district that can attend to a variety of types of homes, from multiple units to individual errors and community housing.
Most houses are expected to accumulate in the back of land launches with 7612 in total in the next five years.
Through the land launch period, commercial and mixed use sites will also be launched for a community center, schools and a child care center.

It is expected that Gungahlin, a district north of Canberra, which has 19.5% of the population of the law, see 3788 new homes of land launches. A new suburb called Kenny could supply 1800 to 2500 houses in two land launch stages.
More places will be launched in Jacka and the city center of Gungahlin, which will include an interest construction project.
Belcans, the most populous district of the law with 108,403 people, could see 3298 new homes created in land releases in urban and Greenfield filling sites.
Land releases are planned for Macnamara in the five years of the Residential Development Program and the sites will be launched in Strathnairn to provide illegal commercial occupants to the local community.
Within the center of Belconnen, there are plans for residential and mixed use developments.
Within the internal district of the north and the city, which has a population of approximately 66000, 2192 houses of urban filling sites near the existing and future lighting connections are expected.
The city center will also see lands launched in southeast Civic for an opportunity for mixed use development.
The southern district will see 3130 homes created from land launches, even mixed use sites. According to the government, there are opportunities on the coast of Kingston, the Kingston Arts and East Lake enclosure.
Woden Valley, south of Canberra, could see 3420 houses built through land release.
Investment in infrastructure is expected to drive this development activity with projects such as the new Woden Cit campus that supports up to 6500 students every year.
Meanwhile, the extension of the Canberra Light Railway to Woden could also provide an urban development potential along the corridor.
Further southern Canberra is Tuggeranong, which will see 993 new houses built on land launched in Gowrie and Richardson.
Weston Creek, southwest Canberra, could be the home of 800 new homes in the next five years, starting with a community use site in Chapman.
East Canberra, the smallest district of the territory that serves as mainly an industrial area, will see a small number of sites released in Oaks Estate for mixed and residential use.
