How does the NBA lottery draft work?
Before the transmission of the draft lottery, a royal lottery is carried out with a representative of the Ernst & Young accounting firm that supervises the entire process. The results of that drawing are sealed in an envelope for the attached commissioner of the NBA and Operations Director Mark Tatum reveals in descending order to a panel or 14 anxious team representatives.
The number 1 selection in the draft is awarded to the team that attracts the winning combination of four numbers of the lottery machine. There are 14 numbered ping-pong balls from one to 14, and each number represents a different lottery team. In total, there are 1,001 possible combinations of four numbers, but only a winning combination.
Once a winner is selected, the drawing process is repeated to determine selections 2-4. The rest of the draft is made in order of victories.
