Do you know what we would use to describe a QB that saves the Cleveland Browns?
Legendary.
Shedeur Sanders has gone through a brutal weekend. Once in the conversation for the no. 1 General selection, the terrain with the Browns in the fifth round in the 144 ° in general. Five quartbacks continued on Sanders, including his new teammate, Dillon Gabriel, an Oregon prospect.
But there is good news for Sanders. Now you can return to football. And in the process, he can silence everyone. It is what he has always done.
What happens with the NFL draft and the process prior to the draft is that there is very little football involved. There are interviews, meetings with the media, training and visits. There are currents of underwear, there is a launch without pads or pashers, and there are anonymous dating of anonymous executives with anonymous shots.
None of that served Sanders, who is, without a doubt, the most convincing character in the draft. The most interesting thing about all was his fall. I used that word on purpose: character. Because that is the one that the draft process unfairly reduced it. People did not treat it as a person or only the rest of the soccer players in their Draft class. Sanders was the leading character in a reality show. That is likely not more, because it has a camera that follows everywhere, but it is no longer the focus.
This does not mean that falling so very well. Goes to. For a long time. And statistically, it is not a good omen for its Chans in the NFL. After all, 25 of the NFL -title Quarterbacks in 2025 will be former first -round selections, if Cam Ward includes. And there are 26 if you think Jaxson Dart will be the headline in New York (and I think it will be at some point in 2025). Brock Purdy is the only initial QB selected after the fourth round.
The truth is that the Browns coach Kevin Stefanski could not have a great history with victories and losses. But he has taken the most of the talents of Marshal of Campo such as Joe Flacco and Jameis Winston. Stefanski is silently one of the best offensive minds, but does not receive much credit due to the complicated QB situations that he has handled. Therefore, there are many reasons to believe that Sanders can be the next QB that Stefanski elevates. But there will also be more adversity for Sanders. There is Gabriel, who went ahead of Sanders. Cleveland still has the Deshaun Watson contract maintaining the organization down, and I think it is unlikely that the QB will play another game for the team. But it will be amazed by the situation if he returned from his injury to Achilles.
Said all this, Sanders could be the beginning of day 1.
If you can find out how to ridicule your fall, you can remove four victories. First, the land with Stefanski. Secondly, it is now a loser, a statistical shot. Third, is that people will support a helpless. And it seemed that few were supporting it until this great slide happened. Fourth, this is a humiliating lesson. After all, many anonymous evaluators said they felt it was arrogant in their interactions with the teams. And if there is a real splinter in that, then this fall could help keep things in perspective, not give anything for granted.
But Sanders’ personality, and his father Deion’s personality, is not the main reason why he fell.
The reason why Sanders fell, in the first place, is that, as a field marshal, it is special in any way. It does not have an outstanding feature that teams can build an offensive. Not your arm strength. It is not your athletics. It is not your decision making. That imported the duration of the draft process. That might not end Matting when he takes the field in the NFL. It could be a better soccer player than the sum of its parts. That happens all the time in the NFL. My God, you would think that NFL GMS would be better to obtain the correct field marshal position, but they are not good in that. They could have this evaluation badly.
Sanders has achieved things that have some other quartbacks. He and his father went to the state of Jackson and accumulated that program. Then they moved to Colorado, where they rebuilt that program. Now it is in Shedeur Go to the Browns and build the team. The NFL laughs have long leg.
But remember that in 2024, Sanders launched for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions without much offensive line and without much in the path of weapons apart from Travis Hunter. Sanders was an excellent university soccer player, and he because maybe the draft process was the sausage for him, but the NFL season could be the best for him.
If TouchDowns starts and win soccer games, his draft position won matter, except, perhaps, which will mean what he had to overcome. Sanders could not change the conversation in the NFL Combine. But you can do it in Cleveland. Once he picks up his head and realizes all that, it will be fine.
“This should not have happened,” Sanders said at his Draft party after the first round on Thursday night.
Maybe not.
Now you need to leave and prove it.
