An 84 -year -old man fell approximately ten feet from a cross while recreating the crucifixion on Good Friday in Weston, West Virginia.
The man participated in the recreation of the Christian Church of the Vandalia community in the Masonic cemetery on Route 33 when he fell, WDTV reported. He was critical and was flown to an emergency center.
The event was the twentieth annual celebration of the Good Friday of the Church, the Daily mail Reported. Every year, three men dress with white clothes and perch on small platforms at crosses to recreate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The man who fell was not a member of the church, but he was helping with the event, the people familiar with the matter told WDTV.
He thought he remained in the ICU with broken ribs as of Monday, the condition of the recreator is improving, according to one of the relations of man.
“The family member also said that doctors believe that their injuries are not attractive now,” according to the report. “At this time, it is not about what caused the man to fall from the cross. “
