Columbus edges Earthquakes 2-1 as San Jose loses its third straight match

Columbus, Ohio-Max Arfsten scored in the 61st minute, Sean Zawadzki added his first goal of the season and Patrick Schulte had five saves on Saturday night to help Columbus’s crew to beat the San José earthquakes 2-1.

San José (3-6-1) has lost three consecutive games after a 6-1 victory in DC United on April 6. The earthquakes are 1-6-1 after consecutive victories to open the season.
