The University of Cornell on Wednesday canned the next artist of Kehlani Jews in the presentation of the campus after facing the violent reaction for the decision to receive the anti-Israel musician.
President Michael Kotlikoff said he had terminated the invitation of the R&B artist nominated for the Grammy Award to act next month in the celebration of the end of the year “Slope Day” of the University, just the day after the school initiated the movement initially.
“Unfortunately, although it was not the intention, the selection of Kehlani, since this year’s titiner has injected division and discord on Slope Day,” he told the student and staff in a letter.
“On the days after Kehlani, he announced, I have heard serious concerns of our community that many are angry, injured and confused that the day of the slope would present an artist who has defended Anti-Semitic, Anti-Israel.
“While any artist has the right in our country to express points of view of hate, Slope’s day is about unite our community, not divide it,” he added.
