The DHL Express multinational logistics company said it would suspend global shipments worth more than $ 800 to US consumers, including Hong Kong, due to regulatory customs changes in the United States.
DHL, based in Germany, said that the suspension of shipments would begin on Monday. The company said the measure is a temporary measure.
The company said the decision was made in response to the new customs rules of the USA that require formal entry processing in all shipments worth more than $ 800. The minimum was $ 2,500 before a change was announced on April 5.
DHL said that company to company would continue but that they could face delays. Shipments worth less than $ 800 to companies or consumers were not affected by the changes.
Last week, DHL said he would continue to process shipments from Hong Kong to the US
The Hong Kong Post said that he had suspended the mail services of the goods sent by the United States, accusing the US government of “intimidation” after the Trump administration canceled the free commercial provisions of fees for packets of China and Hong Kong.
DHL is one of several companies that make changes in their shipping services in the midst of commercial conerns that accumulate, particularly as the commercial war between the United States and China is heated.
