The Missouri state soccer player, Todric McGee, died on Saturday after what the police described as a “accidental” possible injury of a shot.
Fox News said the incident occurred on Friday at McGee’s house, and died the next day.
CBS News quoted the Springfield Police Department that describes McGee’s fatal injury as “a possible accidental gunshot wound.”
McGee was going to enter his fifth year with the state of Missouri and “served as the [team’s] Start security in 2023 and 2024 “.
Springfield News said that a vigil was a hero for McGee on Monday night outside the Missouri state football facilities. Approximately 100 people attended, including McGee’s family.
The director of Athletics of the State of Missouri, Patrick Ransdell, issued a statement, saying: “This tragedy has shaken our football program to the nucleus, and we want them to know that we are here to support them in all possible ways.”
