The Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, revealed on Tuesday that President Trump called him the weekend to ask how his family was going after the fire attack against the Governor’s residence earlier this month.
“I appreciated that the president called me,” Shapiro told journalists in the annual search for Easter eggs in Harrisburg, the first public event held in the governor’s mansion since the April 13 fire destroyed the historical dining room of the building with state wave.
“Real I didn’t receive his call because he came from his cell phone and I didn’t have that number on my phone, so I knew who it was,” said the governor. “As soon as I heard his message, I called him again.”
Shapiro said he spoke with Trump for more than 15 minutes, and the two discussed several issues, including the fire attack that forced the governor, his family, guests and pets to leave the building in the early hours of the morning.
“He was very friendly,” Shapiro said about Trump, noting that the president asked his wife, Lori, and his four children, who had all the sleepy legs when the Molotov cocktails were thrown into the building, lighting a great fire.
“Hello, he asked how Lori and the children were. [We] I spoke for a couple of minutes about what he pursued in the residence, and then we talked during the next 15 minutes or so about a lot of other issues, “Shapiro said.
The governor refused to go into details on the other issues that were discussed.
“Obviously, I’m not going to enter our private conversation,” he said. “But it is in tune with the problems that are important to me. I, of course, know the problems that are important to him, and we agree to keep us in contact in the future.”
Cody Balmer, the alleged anti -Semitic madman accused of climbing a fence, destroying a window with a hammer and then throwing Molotov cocktails in the governor’s residence while Shapiro and his family slept, has accused of being and omerth.
Balmer, 38, allegedly referred to the alleged Shapiro plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people “a 911 call that admits the attack, according to an order of the police.
The authorities are investigating whether Balmer was driven to carry out the attack on anti -Semitism and prosecutors are weighing the tachuela of the charges of hate crimes to the alleged rap of Firebug. Shapiro is Jewish.
