President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodyymyr Zenskyyr Zelensky were gathered for Pope Francis’s funeral on Saturday for the first time since his explosive clash of the Oval office almost two months ago.
The meeting followed a week of public attacks against Trump’s Zensky, who blamed him for maintaining peace conversations in his three war with Russia.
Zensky was not sure to attribute the funeral until the last minute, saying on Friday that he could have to deal with matters related to the Russian missile strike on Thursday that killed 12 people and wounded 87.
Zensky sent him in Rome with the First Ukrainian Lady Olena Zenska on Saturday morning, according to the kyiv Independent, citing the president’s spokesman.
Trump and the first lady Melania arrived in Italy on Friday for their first international trip of their second term.
Trump and Zensky’s public appearance in Rome occurs after a tense week of stagnant peace negotiations in the Russian-Ukraine War, which Trump blamed Zensky for holding.
Zensky went back to a framework presented by the US to the negotiators in Paris last week that included granting Russia to the majority of the Ukrainian territory that has captured in the last decade and crushed the hopes of Ukraine to join NATO.

“It can have peace or can fight for another three years before losing the entire country,” added the president.
Trump’s publication also referred to the famous February 28 party at the Oval office between him, Zensky and Vice President JD Vance.
The television visit, which would be supposed to include the signing of a framework agreement that gave the United States a participation in the strange land minerals of Ukraine, deviated after Zensky seemed to make a condescending comment to Vance.
