The International Court of Justice (ICI) has failed against South Africa in a procedural dispute in the current case of “genocide”, granting an extension of 6 months for Israel to present its answers after the abuses of the South African team.
Israel’s I24 news reported Wednesday:
The International Court of Justice (ICI) in the Hague agreed to postpone the processes in the case presented by South Africa against Israel, after Israeli objections regarding procedural violations and lack of transparency.
As a result, Israel will now have until January 12, 2026 to respond to South Africa claims, which goes back six months from the original July 2025.
According to the legal commentator of I24News, Avishai Grinzaig, the court determined that South Africa’s attempt to present evidence without allowing Israel to access it was a serious violation of the legal standards. The ICJ ruled that identities and evidence of witnesses cannot be hidden from the accused State, reinforcing the principle of due process.
South Africa has led an effort to isolate and demonize Israel in international forums, an effort that has not been beneficial for the Palestinians, and may have harmed them by encouraging terrorists to continue fighting, which in turn has forced Israel to condle.
President Donald Trump has criticized South Africa for presenting the ICJ case, one among the many ways in which the Trump administration says South Africa is damaging the foreign policy of the United States and national security interests.
South Africa, until now, has refused to withdraw from the case. He has tasks of the official legal position that Israel has no right to respond to terror against civilians because it is, osteble, a “occupation” power.
The ICJ has ruled that the Palestinians have the right to seek repair, but has not made a definitive decision, and in the meantime it has not ordered Israel to stop war, but simply reminded him to maintain his obligations and under international treatments.
