Stay the course with struggling fantasy baseball stars

Early season’s falls can even try the most patient fantasy baseball managers.

When the high draft selects low performance, the temptation to cut the bait grows, but some batters that fight deserve a longer belt. Remember, it’s just April. And we still have five months or performance to see. Becoming batters that leave the ice cream is a dangerous game, and not one that you want to play.

The gardener of the Blancas Medias, Luis Robert Jr., was recruited for his rise in five categories, but his 2025 season has been a mixed bag. Its batting average of .138 is atrocious, and the cattle rate of 31.3 percent is the count last season, the struggles of last season could not have a factory.

Robert’s problems, partly, in part of rupture launches, have exhausted their production power, with only two home runs during the first month. Neverberness, its elite speed is still a saving grace, and the seven robberies are obviously useful.

But Robert’s struggles can be more mental than physical. He has been caught in a loser organization, and is definitely affecting his approach and his attitude. We know that the white socks are buying, and our only hope is that a trade occurs sooner rather than later. The skill set is too good not to believe that a landscape change is what is most needed. Bank for now, but don’t fall.

Christian Walker is another frustrating veteran. Known for its constant power, Walker is hitting .202 with a strike rate close to 30 percent. It is chasing launches outside the area, particularly low and remote sliding controls, which has led to weak and emerging contact.

The transition to a new league and a baseball stadium probably explains much of this. Different launch styles and unknown environments can interrupt equally veteran batters, and Walker’s first numbers reflect that adjustment period.

But Walker’s Batted-Ball profile is still solid. Its barrel rate and launch angle indicate a return of the power once it sits. The new stadium may not be so friendly for batters as Arizona’s, but Walker’s history shows that he can adapt. Patience is key here: wait for it to heat up as you feel more comfortable and keep it in your bank to change.

Those who invested in Willsson Contreras for their eligibility for the receiver could be looking forward to being behind the dish to limit some of the horrible spin to bat. The strikeouts are murderers, and with a walking rate cut in the middle of their race number, it means that it is chasing too many releases. But there is still much for the veteran support.

The underlying metrics of Contreras are still strong. Its output speed and bat speed are classified in 15 percent upper, and its hard blow rate is the elite. Once it is established and more selective on the dish, we can expect its average and OBP to rise, with the production of power and the production of follow -up. Keep it in your alignment or with bench in shallow leagues, but like others, he is a control.

He thought Robert, Walker and Contreras are fighting, their stories and metrics shout patience. Bank if necessary, but leaving them would be myopic. Each has the tools to change things, either through a improved trade, adjustment or selection. Stay the course. Your patience is likely to be rewarded.
