Man shot by police at Toronto airport

A shooting that involves a police officer outside the Pearson International Airport of Toronto cut the traffic that goes to terminal 1, authorities said on Thursday.

Peel Regional Police said in a social media post that a man was shot and the officer was not injured. The shooting occurred outside the terminal.

Peel’s paramedics say they received a request to attend the airport at 6:56 am and no one was transported to the hospital, but did not confirm if someone had died.

“There is an isolated incident and there are no security threats for public security,” Peel Regional Police said in a statement.

The Provincial Police of Ontario said the roads are closed from Highway 409 to terminal 1.

The video posted on social networks on the early Thursday seemed to show a great police presence outside the airport.

The cars seemed to be supported along the road that leads to the terminal.
